This site continues to be the target of numerous SpamBots, which requires time for me to monitor. I have installed another layer of security called Captcha. It displays a picture of letters/numbers that the user must echo to an input form to verify that he/she is a real person. I hope it is not too inconvenient or troublesome but I want to keep this site free of the junk seen too often on such sites as this.
Please tell me if you encounter any problems using it.

It contains a lot of content that is only visible to registered users who are logged in. We were forced to use this approach by constant attacks on the site by hackers and spammers. Visitors can still see our user forums , which are the most popular part of the site.
Other useful things, like reference data for old equipment, are arranged by category in the left column but are only visible to logged-in members.
