Does anyone know where I could obtain the specs for the Philips N4504 tape deck?
Have had no luck in preliminary searches.
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but there aren't many concerning the matter. Thanks

A little more info on the N-4520 and N-4520. They have been produced between 1978 and 1981/2. Only the N-4520 (4 track version) has the FSX ferrite heads. The N-4522 does not. The MSRP was about $ 1,700. On eBay Germany they usually sell for about $ 500.00 In our country they sell for about $ 275.00 to $ 300.00 I finally got myself an N-4520 in April 2006. In my opinion the only Philips deck I really appreciate and which is worth to keep. It's well built and weighs a ton. From the voltage selector I think they can be used worldwide. Since all motors are DC motors no cycles (Hz) converting switch is necessary. Still I don't understand why they almost can't be found in the U.S. Maybe they would be much too expensive or maybe they couldn't compete with the (mostly) cheaper Japanese decks on the American market. For the same money you could buy yourself a Teac X-1000R or an Akai GX-747 and the N-4520 does not have auto reverse. It doesn have an external bias control, variable winding speed, 3 tape speeds, digital counter, NAB/IEC switch (for 15 ips only), FSX wearfree heads, separate mic and line inputs, cue and review and s.o.s functions. No reel size switch is necessary due to the induction controlled tape tension system.

..And if someone needs parts for the N4520 I might have what you are searching for. Got some parts left after restoring two N4520 decks..
