Hello. I own aTEAC X-2000r reel to reel tape deck and it has been in storage in its original box for some time and when I turned it on today it had some slight smoke for a minute or so. The machine didn't get hot so I preceded to play a reel and it played just fine. The slight smoke did stop after awhile. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I oil the motors? I suspect the smoke was dust that accumulated on the motors. Thanks very much.
Chris

I would check the back of the PC board for any black burn marks around any parts.
